Dubai is one of the most comfortable destinations to visit with kids. Regardless of the age of your child, there is so much to do and it is a very safe place. It would be a perfect travel route, especially if you want to have summer vibes while the weather is cooler in your country. We were in Dubai with my son in the past weeks and I wanted to prepare a detailed Dubai Travel Guide for you, have a nice read.

Dubai with Kids

If you are a citizen of a country that needs a visa to Dubai, the airline companies help you get a visa and it takes only 1 or 2 days. You just upload your passport and photo, you don’t have to collect a lot of documents, it costs around 100$.

I will write about child-friendly accomodations, activities, places to visit and restaurant recommendations.

Where to Stay in Dubai with Kids?

First of all, I would like to make a few comments about the choice of location. Then I will share my recommendations for hotels suitable for families with different budgets. We stayed in JBR, Jumeirah Beach Residence, which is the most recommended place for families with children, and I will recommend this place also for families. It is close to the beach, The Walk where you can go out in the evenings and take a walk with your family is very nice, there are many restaurants and hotel alternatives for every budget. I can also suggest Dubai Marina which is close to JBR. Another option would be Downtown, Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall is here, so it’s a good area for shopping and eating out. There are some very nice luxury hotels on Palm Jumeirah, the palm island, so you can also stay there. Finally, the area called Dubai Parks and Resorts is an area where you can find all kinds of different theme parks and you get one theme park for free per day of your stay. You can consider this place for a vacation consisting only of amusement parks.

We stayed at Ramada Hotel, Suites and Apartments by Wyndham Dubai JBR. We stayed in an apartment with one bedroom, living room and kitchen. We were very pleased with the hotel, I can happily recommend it. Considering the price performance, it is a reasonable option. You can check the hotel and prices here.

Things to do with kids in Dubai

Desert Safari: If your child is 5 years old and above, I definitely recommend you to add this activity to your plans. My son enjoyed it very much. Adventurous dune bashing and sand boarding were his favorite activities.

Boat Tour: There are many places in Dubai where you can take a boat tour. You can take a ride on traditional boats in Dubai Marina, Dubai Creek and Dubai Fountain. There are also tours that take you around the neighborhood by speedboat.

Enjoying the Beach: One of the most enjoyable activities to do with children in Dubai is undoubtedly enjoying the beaches. One of the most popular beaches in Dubai is Jumeirah Beach, but I would not recommend going there on weekends and afternoons, early morning and weekdays are ideal. Kite Beach and La Mer Beach are also enjoyable.

Places to visit in Dubai with kids

Burj Khalifa: The skyscraper, which we can call the main symbol of Dubai, still holds the record of being the tallest building in the world with its 828-meter height. Keep in mind that tickets to visit the top of the building are more expensive between 15:00-18:30 in the afternoon.

Sky Views Observatory: This is a building overlooking Burj Khalifa and the main attraction is that it has a glass slide on the 53rd floor. Also, on the 52nd floor you can walk on the glass floor. It is a totally touristic activity, I think it is a bit of a money trap, it is not a must.

Dubai Fountain: The famous fountain show in front of Dubai Mall takes place every evening between 6:00-11:00pm. There are 2 shows at noon, at different times on weekends and weekdays. In addition to the water show dancing in rhythm with the music, there is also a light show on the Burj Khalifa. You can watch it for free.

Museum of the Future: If you want to teleport to the future of Dubai and the world for a while, I recommend you to visit this museum. Both the building itself and the atmosphere inside the museum are fantastic. It is an interactive museum, a place where children will have a good time.

Miracle Garden: This is the largest natural flower garden in the world. In the 72,000 square meter park, you can see structures made entirely of flowers. My son was not interested at all, but I think it is an impressive place, maybe girls might like it more. It is open from October to April, but the dates may vary depending on the weather.

Global Village: This place is also open from October to April. You can think of it as a huge county fair. Shopping areas, food and drink, amusement park etc. It is a place where you can have a pleasant time with your family.

Aquariums: The Lost Chambers Aquarium in Atlantis, The Palm and Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo in Dubai Mall are very interesting places for children. The Dubai Aquarium is one of the largest in the world and you have the chance to see 140 different species of sea creatures.

Theme Parks: Dubai is also home to some famous theme parks where you are guaranteed to have a lot of fun. You can choose according to your child’s interest. Some of the main ones are: IMG Worlds of Adventure, MOTIONGATE Dubai, LEGOLAND Dubai

Water Parks: One of the best activities to do with children in the Dubai heat is to go to water parks. Not only children but also adults can have fun. The main ones are: Aquaventure, Legoland Water Park, AquaFun

Dubai Dining Options with Kids

I don’t think you will have any difficulty eating and drinking with kids in Dubai because there are restaurants of all kinds of cuisines for all budgets. Let me tell you a few good restaurants that are suitable for visiting with children, you don’t have to go to these places specifically, but if they are on your way, you might like them.

Luigia at JBR Rixos Premium is a kid-friendly Italian restaurant. Wavehouse at Atlantis The Palm is a fast food restaurant with lots of playgrounds. There is Masha And The Bear restaurant in JBR, you can go if your child likes the cartoon. I think it makes sense to choose a hotel with breakfast included when you have kids, you don’t have to stress about breakfast, our hotel had a very good breakfast.

Dubai Transportation with Kids

If you are going to use public transportation with children in Dubai, it is free for children up to 5 years old. NOL Card is used for public transportation in Dubai and if you have a child older than 5 years old, you need to buy a NOL Card for him/her. By the way, in some metro stations there are subway entrances where only women and children can get in. I wouldn’t recommend you to get in here during the rush hour because everyone is a woman and no one will give you a seat. However, in mixed carriages, there is always a man who gives you a seat because you are a woman with children. If you are going to travel by car, you are expected to have a car seat for children up to 4 years old and I read that the fine is 400 aed, for your information.

I hope my Travel Guide for Dubai with Kids article will be useful and you will have a nice Dubai trip. If there is anything else you would like to add or ask, please write in the comments so that everyone can benefit.
